Her reasoning? She doesn’t want to stream some award-winning prestige drama that she has to meticulously track; she wants an ongoing, chaotic epic that she can become emotionally unhinged by for the next 20 years. As she put it: “I want someone to have amnesia. I want an evil twin. I want them to recast a character and we all just move forward.”

Now THAT is soap opera appreciation! And judging by the reaction online, plenty of people agree with her—and the universe rewarded her.
Apparently, Young’s love letter to daytime television caught the attention of the right people. After Young’s hilarious take took off, the powers that be at the soap actually slid into her DMs and invited her to experience the ultimate pilgrimage: a visit to Salem.
Naturally, she wasn’t about to turn that invitation down! Documenting her trip, Young shared a post with the ultimate caption: “I went to Salem. Thank you @dayspeacock for welcoming me home ⏳”
If growing up in the late ’90s meant you spent your formative years mimicking soap royalty—like Young, who joked that back in the year 2000 she used to hang out in AOL chat rooms pretending to be Belle Black—walking onto the Days of Our Lives set is a spiritual experience. The highlight of the trip? Meeting daytime legend Deidre Hall herself.
Sharing a carousel of photos alongside the iconic Marlena Evans and members of the Days cast, a starstruck Young wrote: “I MET MARLENA EVANS. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! 🫶🏼⌛️ THANK YOU to the entire @dayspeacock team and everyone who made me feel so welcome in Salem. I may never leave.”
Could Genoa City Be Next?
Look, we aren’t starting rumors, but as Young noted during her trip, stranger things have happened in Salem. Frankly, we think it’s entirely possible she might just officially become Marlena’s newest long-lost relative.
Until the writers make it official, we’ll just be over here on the couch, eating junk food and waiting for our own invite to town.
