Kelly Monaco is in the final leg of her time on General Hospital as Sam McCall. Although her character did die in the October 30 episode, this 21-year vet of GH will make her final appearance on the show later this week. For those who haven’t seen the emotionally charged episode yet, be warned: spoilers are ahead!
In this pivotal episode, a cheerful Sam is visited by her mother, Alexis. Sam excitedly reveals that Dante proposed, and she accepted, while flaunting her engagement ring. However, moments later, tragedy strikes as Sam begins to crash and the doctors rush in to save her. Unfortunately, their efforts proved unsuccessful, and her brother, Lucas, was left with the heartbreaking task of pronouncing her time of death (5:48).
Kelly Monaco made her debut on General Hospital on October 1, 2003. Over the years, Monaco has been instrumental in major, pivotal storylines and popular pairings. With her undeniable talent, she has attracted a vast and devoted fan base, who were understandably disheartened when news broke in August that she was let go from the show. As her time on GH winds down, we wholeheartedly wish Kelly all the best in her future endeavors!
