How GH Honors Anthony Geary
Although the show aired a tribute card at the end of an episode this week, Varni confirmed that Anthony Geary will also be honored with a proper farewell.
Sharing a photo of the tribute card, Varni wrote, “Our team is working on a loving montage to be included later in the month. Keep an eye out. RIP.”
The show also aired Geary’s final episode on January 1. That episode originally aired in July 2015. It marked the moment when Geary and his iconic character Luke Spencer said goodbye to Port Charles.
How General Hospital will Honor Tristan Rogers
One fan jumped into the comments with a question, asking, “I’m happy you did an end-of-episode dedication for Tony, but did you do one for Tristan? I don’t remember seeing one.”
Varni explained that because Robert Scorpio has not passed away on screen, the writers are still working on a storyline that will allow for a proper send-off later in 2026.
This helps explain why honoring Luke Spencer on screen came with its own challenges. Fans will remember that on New Year’s Day 2022, Tracy returned to Port Charles to inform Laura and Kevin Collins that Luke had died in a cable car accident in Austria. It was later implied that the tragedy was orchestrated by Victor Cassadine as part of his long-standing vendetta against Luke.
Anthony Geary passed away on December 14, 2025, at the age of 78. Tristan Rogers died earlier that year on August 15, 2025, at the age of 79.
