Sasha (Sofia Mattsson, General Hospital) has had one topsy-turvy life since stepping foot in Port Charles! She initially came on as a sort of bad girl—pretending to be Nina’s daughter and all—but as time progressed, she became the girl to whom bad things happen almost all the time. After all, it was one loss after the other. Sasha’s been through it all! She’s lost baby Liam, lost Brando; she was once the face of Deception, but now she’s the Quartermaine cook and she’s pregnant.
Portrayer Sofia Mattsson is the latest star to guest on the Daily Drama Podcast hosted by GH faves Steve Burton (Jason) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli).
Right now Sasha is the center of some crazy drama on the show, where she is pregnant with Michael’s baby, but Jason agreed to pretend to be her baby’s father.
Speaking about the story twist, Mattsson admits that she was “so surprised!” She adds, “That happened so quickly, and I remember the day. I was having some fun scenes with Cody (like fun, flirty stuff), and then I talked to Frank, and he was like, ‘Oh, yeah, you’re going to get pregnant.’ And I just assumed, ‘Oh, with Cody.’ But Frank said, ‘With Michael.’ And I’m like, ‘WHAT?!’ She adds, “We were filming a scene where we (this is Cody and Sasha) were about to get romantically together in his bedroom, and that was the day we found out, and it all just impacted us both so much to know that that’s what’s going to happen.”
When Is Sasha’s Baby Due on General Hospital?
As for when this baby is due, Mattson notes, “July 23rd.”. Mattsson also spoke about Johnny Wactor, who played her onscreen love interest, Brando Corbin. Sadly, Wactor was tragically murdered in May 2024. Mattsson said, “I miss him so much; we had an epic (on-screen) love story. My favorite of all time. I loved him so much. We had baby Liam who died and it was so sad, and he (Johnny) was the best actor.
