We are celebrating multiple Emmy Award Winner, actress, producer and director Hillary B. Smith on her special 65th birthday!



She was born, Hillary Bailey Smith on May 25, 1957, in Boston, Massachusetts. She attended Dana Hall School, Pine Manor College and Sarah Lawrence College. At Sarah Lawrence as a senior, she performed in off-Broadway and Broadway productions, including The Heidi Chronicles. She married Philip Webster Smith, III in 1983. She met her husband at age 14 and married him a few years later after the two reconnected at a friend’s wedding. They have two children, a daughter, Courtney and a son, Philip. (As an infant, Smith’s son played her on-screen son briefly on As the World Turns.)


Smith’s breakout television role was as “Margo Hughes” on the soap opera As The World Turns. She portrayed Margo for five years before exiting the role. 



Smith was cast as “Nora Hanen Buchanan” on One Live to Live in 1992 and played the beloved character through the show’s television finale in 2012. Smith reprised the role in the web version of the soap and Nora has also visited General Hospital with Smith appearing on the soap in 2017 and 2019.


In addition, Smith has appeared on The Bold and the Beautiful and the soap web series Venice the Series and Beacon Hill.
