Martha Madison (Belle, Days of Our Lives) and Eric Martsolf (Brady) are taking the roles of co-chairs for the “Hogey’s Home Runners” team, gearing up for the big PanCAN Purple Stride walk for Pancreatic Cancer to honor their on-screen dad, Drake Hogestyn, who passed away after a battle with pancreatic cancer in 2024.
Their fundraising page quips, “Drake was the most energetic, optimistic and compassionate man in Salem, and we know he would want us to focus on joy, togetherness and fun as we move toward a future devoid of Pancreatic Cancer. So, with a heart full of Drake’s team spirit and a crew full of Salem’s most familiar faces, we invite you to join in our first-ever Purple Stride team walk in Los Angeles on April 26th!”
Madison said on Instagram, “Eric and I are committed to walking toward a future without Pancreatic Cancer….and we want you to come along!” She added, “We also want to ‘SWING FOR THE FENCES’ with our fundraising, so we’ve set a lofty goal of $50,000. Any donation, big or small, is so appreciated and will be used to fund continued research, advocacy and patient services for those currently battling pancreatic cancer. ”

And for those who can’t make it over to LA in April, fear not! There are about 60 other walks happening at the same time across the country, so you can register for a @pancan walk near you!
PurpleStride promises to be a day where survivors, families, caregivers, friends, physicians, and researchers celebrate people currently affected, honor those we’ve lost and take steps to end pancreatic cancer.
