General Hospital viewers worldwide are all asking the same question right now: Is Marco Rios dead? And does this mean Adrian Anchondo is leaving the show?
What Happened to Marco on GH?
After being confronted by Lucas, Marco made a bold move. He chose to go against his father and their boss, Cullum. Instead, he helped Lucas try to get Britt the medication she desperately needed.
Marco managed to grab two vials and hand them off, but things quickly went south. He headed back to the office, and that’s when everything went wrong. Cullum showed up, armed with a knife, and Marco suddenly found himself in some serious danger.
Is This the End for Marco?
That’s the big question. The attack leaves Marco fighting for his life, and nothing is guaranteed in Port Charles. Characters have survived worse, but they’ve also been written out just as quickly. Right now, it could go either way.
In the episode, Alexis and Danny are set to make a gruesome discovery, and based on the trajectory of things, we can safely assume they find Marco’s bloody body on the ground.
As for Anchondo, he joined General Hospital as a contract player. He made his debut on March 13, 2025. Marco quickly became a character fans had strong opinions about, whether they loved him or loved to hate him.
Recently, Anchondo marked his one-year anniversary on the show with a heartfelt post. Taking to Instagram, the actor penned, “Happy one year to my best friend Marco! Thank you for coming into my life and teaching me a few things. 75 episodes in one year! My life has changed so much because of you, and I am forever grateful. I’m happy to see how much love (or love to hate) people have for you.”
He adds, “I can’t begin to tell you how nervous I was this first day. I had 2 days to memorize and prepare, and then learned very quickly how the goal was to get everything in one take with one rehearsal. I was also contemplating quitting Grad school at this time for the show, and trying to work out like crazy to shoot my first shirtless scene. It’s been a rollercoaster ever since, but I’ve been in great hands.”
What Happens Next?
At this point, the show hasn’t confirmed anything about Marco’s fate yet. That leaves fans guessing. Could this be a shocking exit? Could Marco be dead? Is this why Elizabeth delivers bad news on Wednesday?
