Cole Howard has died on The Young and the Restless, which would only mean the end of the road for actor J. Eddie Peck in the role.

Cole, a longtime character on the CBS soap, was originally introduced in 1980, played briefly by N.P. Schoch before disappearing from the canvas. The character was reintroduced in 1993, with J. Eddie Peck taking over until 1999. Peck returned to the role once more on November 21, 2023.

Recently, Cole was diagnosed with Legionnaires’ disease after suffering from a persistent cough and fever. His condition quickly worsened. This week, Claire and Victoria visited him in his hotel room at the GCAC. He told them they had come just in time — to say their goodbyes.

Claire and Victoria were devastated, barely able to process the sudden loss. In an emotional final moment, Victoria kissed him before he took his last breath.

J. Eddie Peck is also known for his roles as Howard Hawkins on Days of Our Lives and Jake Martin on All My Children.
