Jackee Harry and James Reynolds caught up with Soap Opera News at Day of Days, an annual fan event in Los Angeles. Along with taking pictures, participating in a Q&A, and signing autographs all day, Jackee and James broke down for us what they’d like to see for their characters.
On Mayor Paulina Price changing after being married, “I’m keeping my name! Not Paulina Price-Carver! He should take my name!”
Reynolds chuckled, “Oh no, Abe couldn’t do that! Abe’s too old school”
When asked about what they’d consider to be dreams come true as performers for their character’s stories, Jackee said, “She thinks that she is not young enough for Abe. She has a crisis. I’ve never played an insecure woman in my career! I’ve never played not without confidence. I want to be vulnerable… and sometimes I want to be mean!”
“That’d be interesting if another woman came along,” adds James.
“And then I’d cut her! And she limps away.” Jackee says as the conclusion to the story.
“I’d like to see Abe’s evil twin.” James suggests, “And you don’t know who is who. The evil brother is plotting with all the baddies. He’s pretending to be good; he’s a little slick. It can work with what [Jackee] said; Paulina sees ‘Abe’ out with other women, but it’s his brother.”
If they could play any other character on Days of Our Lives, Jackee said, “I like Stacy’s crazy one, with the teeth. Susan! But to be really extreme, I’d love to be Leo’s character. I’d like to be a guy; he gets a cute boyfriend. I like to be challenged like that. I did that once; I played a guy. But it’ll never come out. I copied my brother, had a little walk and a mustache.”
James jumped at the chance to play “Stefano. Villains should be charming. You don’t want the mustache-twirling villain but the one that worms his way into your life. Much like Stefano was. I also like doing dialects.” (Photo: JPI)
