Jane Elliot is marking her 77th birthday today. Born on January 17, 1947, in New York City, she was married to Luis Rojas and is the mother of three children: Adrian Lucas Rojas Elliot, Isiah Mikail Elliot, and Annie Rose Elliot.

Elliot made her debut in daytime television in the short-lived ABC soap opera A Flame in the Wind in 1965. She later made guest appearances in several television series, co-starred in films, and played the lead role in the short-lived NBC series Rosetti and Ryan in 1977.

Elliot is most renowned for her portrayal of Tracy Quartermaine on General Hospital, a role she assumed in 1978 and earned a dedicated fan base. Her performance garnered her a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 1981. That same year, she also took on the recurring role of Judy Trent in the primetime CBS series Knots Landing.

Additionally, Elliot portrayed Carrie Todd on Guiding Light, Cynthia Chandler Preston Cortlandt on All My Children, and Angelica Deveraux on Days of Our Lives. Interestingly, her character in Days of Our Lives had a romantic involvement with the character portrayed by Wally Kurth, who plays her on-screen son on General Hospital.

After an extended career, Elliot formally announced her retirement in March 2017, but then making periodic returns to General Hospital in December 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023.
