Jeff Kober has another major award nomination to celebrate.
The former General Hospital star has earned a nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series at the 2026 Primetime Emmy Awards for his acclaimed performance as Duke Ekins on HBO’s The Pitt.
Kober joins a competitive field that includes Ernest Harden Jr. (The Pitt), Colman Domingo (Euphoria), Bradley Whitford (The Diplomat), Jonathan Pryce (Slow Horses), and Jeff Hiller (Pluribus).
A Standout Performance on The Pitt
On The Pitt, Kober plays Duke Ekins, a motorcycle engineer and close friend of Dr. Robby.
After Dr. Robby urges him to seek medical attention for persistent hoarseness, Duke checks into the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center, only to receive a diagnosis that’s far more serious than expected.
Throughout the season, Duke becomes a calming presence amid the hospital’s nonstop chaos.
Kober’s nuanced performance quickly became one of the standout guest appearances of the season.
Another Chance at Emmy Gold
This isn’t Kober’s first trip to the Emmys.
Soap fans will remember that he won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2022 for his unforgettable portrayal of Cyrus Renault on General Hospital.
Now, he has the opportunity to add a Primetime Emmy to his growing list of accomplishments.
There’s also another exciting possibility.
The 2026 Daytime Emmy nominations are set to be announced on July 14, meaning Kober could end up with nominations in both the Primetime and Daytime Emmy races this year. That is, if he gets a guest performer nomination again for his brief return to GH in 2025.
