Jensen Ackles, who played Eric Brady on Days of Our Lives before rocketing to stardom playing Dean Winchester on Supernatural has a new series in the works with The CW!

Supernatural followed two brothers, Sam (Jared Padaleki) and Dean Winchester, as they travelled the country fighting supernatural beings. It ran for 15 seasons, starting on The WB in 2005 before moving to The CW in 2006 and became the anchor series for The CW for most of it’s run on that network.

Supernatural ended in November of 2020 but by June of 2021 word had leaked that Supernatural star Jensen Ackles and his wife, Danneel Ackles who had portrayed Sister Jo on Supernatural, were in talks to produce the prequel.

The series, titled The Winchesters, is a prequel to Supernatural and follows Sam and Dean’s parents John and Mary Winchester. Their story will be narrated by Jensen Ackles’ Dean and is being billed as “an epic, untold love story of how John met Mary and how they put it all on the line to not only save their love, but the entire world.”

On Thursday the network announced that they had ordered the pilot of the series which brings it one giant step closer to being a full time reality!
