John Aprea has died at the age of 83 on August 15 due to unspecified causes. His close friend and former co-star Paul Carafotes, announced Aprea’s death on Instagram late Saturday, “I just heard that my old pal, friend Actor, father, husband, brother. Passed away 8/15/2024 We had lots of laughs. We met on the set of CBS television show Knots Landing, 1987 Over 40 years ago. Many will miss this man! Rest old friend. I’ll see you on the other side PC.”

TMZ reports, “His manager Will Levine tells us … the actor passed away on August 7, at his home in Los Angeles, with family members by his side.”

John Aprea, born on March 4, 1941 in Englewood, New Jersey, was a prolific American actor celebrated for his impactful roles in both television and film. His impressive repertoire includes memorable appearances in iconic TV shows such as “The Godfather Part II,” “The Rockford Files,” and “Dynasty.”

Aprea showcased his talent through guest appearances on numerous other acclaimed TV series. Notably, he portrayed Sheriff Jack North on Falcon Crest (1987), Manny Vasquez on Knots Landing (1988), and Lucas Castigliano on Another World (1989 to 1992), Dr. Bryce on Days of our Lives and Jack Maddison on The Bay.
