John J York announced on X today that he would be taking a leave of absence from General Hospital for a few weeks.

John J York debuted on General Hospital  in 1991 as the younger brother to the super sleuth Robert Scorpio, Mac. Over the decades in the role York as Mac Scorpio carved the character’s own path though the series outside the shadow of the wildly popular Robert.

Currently as one of GH’s longest term cast members, York made the announcement that he would have to step away from the role for a “brief hiatus” as he is “in the process of getting important information.”

He ended the post with a large smiling emoji and let his fans know that he’d remain in contact during his break from the series.

No facts have been revealed by John J York or his representatives. Already, York has received a mass wave of support from his followers online. We will bring you more details on this developing story as they become available.
