Hey you, buckle up for a whirlwind romance ride featuring Josh Swickard (Chase from General Hospital) and his better half, Lauren Swickard!
Both Lauren and her husband are in the entertainment industry—she’s a multitasking marvel as an actor, writer, and producer, while Josh proudly dons the hats of an actor and producer. This dynamic duo dropped by Lifestyle with Roy Ice, where they spilled the beans on how they met and their secret recipe for becoming a fabulous power couple. Get ready to chuckle as they share how they navigate the wild world of married life, juggling acting careers, wrestling with the joys of raising kids, and tackling the zany challenges of keeping their relationship sparkling and fresh!
Reminiscing on they met Lauren quipped, “We met on a movie. We were the lead actors in a film, but we actually met for the first time at the Warner Bros. studio lot. And he got my phone number under the iconic water tower,” Josh chimed in with a grin, “for work purposes. Just to be clear.”
Later on, discussing the wild ride of juggling their careers and marriage, Lauren noted, “We’ve had discussions about boundaries when it comes to our careers. So we’ve made a commitment to each other to say no to certain types of roles, certain types of scenes, and that is something that is not very common in a lot of our friends who are in the industry. And when we talk about that, it starts another conversation, which I actually enjoy telling people that we prioritize our marriage before our career.”
On the topic of watching one’s spouse in love scenes, Josh stated, “I think it’s just challenging. There’s no way around it to some degree. I think also our industry is so desensitized that it’s… everything’s over-sexualized.”
Josh Swickard adds, “I’m always up for the conversation if Lauren or myself had worked on a project and did something with a director, but I think for me mainly right now is like I got kids growing up and they’re going to school and they got friends, and everybody’s got the internet, and it’s going to be weird enough having parents that are actors. And if at home we’re like, ‘This is how to get through life, and this is the foundation, and this is how to build it on a rock,’ and then for work we’re doing something, it’s a weird thing that I still stress about it just from what Lauren and I have already done of stuff, and that’s not so bad.”
