Not so long ago, eagle-eyed General Hospital fans took notice of a name missing from the contract section of the show’s closing credits. The name absent from the list was Josh Kelly, who has been playing the role of Cody Bell since 2022. Naturally, many assumed this meant Bell was done with the show. Some assumed this meant he was going recurring. The latter is what turned out to be true.

In a recent interview with Soap Opera Digest, Kelly explained what transpired and revealed that the decision to move to recurring was completely his. However, he doesn’t plan on leaving… at least, not anytime soon.

I want to stay on General Hospital forever!” he said.

Kelly explained that the decision was made due to the fact that he wanted to pursue other projects outside of the show, some of which he has been working on with his real-life girlfriend and ex-GH star, Chloe Lanier (aka Nelle Benson). One of which is a sequel to his film The Workout.

Josh Kelly also sang the praises of his new storyline, which is that of the current mess with Ava, Molly, and Kristina. (Photo: ABC.)
