Kelly Monaco Shares Her Alcohol-Free Milestone
Monaco is beloved in the daytime community, and that rings true as seen during her tenure on General Hospital, where she played Sam McCall for just over two decades. Proving our point, when the show decided to kill off the character in November 2024, her fans rallied and pushed several campaigns—even a billboard in New York’s Times Square—to get the show to reverse its decision.
While the campaigns did not get her reinstated in her job at GH, Monaco remains one of the most beloved stars to have ever graced the GH screens.
Since leaving the show, Monaco had been off the radar for a bit before resurfacing on social media to celebrate her 50th birthday on May 23. At the time, she shared, “Today I turned 50! There’s no place like home… coach @__monaco getting me back in shape.”
Her most recent post after this was one celebrating her mom’s birthday. Sharing a photo, she captioned, “She turns 70 today and I got to wake up next to her! How good is God. Happy Birthday, Mom. I love you to the moon and beyond.”
Monaco hasn’t taken on new television roles since her General Hospital exit. But we—and her fans alike—are holding out hope we will see her back on our screens soon!
