This week, The Bold and the Beautiful traded corporate combat for couture as Murielle Hilaire, starring as Daphne Rose, graced the screen in a bridal look that we just can’t stop talking about. Hilaire and her B&B alter ego, Daphne, have been chosen as Soap Opera News’ look of the week for February 9-13. Let’s talk about that look!
Daphne Rose Becomes Daphne Walton
As the perfume maven prepared to say “I do” to Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor), the show’s styling department opted for a minimalist masterpiece that perfectly captured Daphne’s sophisticated French American roots. And boy, did they outdo themselves!
As Daphne entered the Forrester Creations showroom for her surprise on-the-spot wedding ceremony, she sported an ivory silk crepe wrap-style gown that instantly became the look of the week.
Skipping traditional lace and heavy beadwork often seen at Forrester weddings, the design relied on sharp architectural lines. Its features include a deep V-neckline and delicate spaghetti straps. The gathered waist and side knot detailing created a soft cascading effect that flowed into a daring, runway-ready thigh-high slit.
It was sleek. It was confident. And it was fashion. The kind of soap fashion we love to see!
A Glowing, Modern Bride
As for Daphne’s hair, it was swept back into a polished low bun. This allowed her natural beauty and the gown’s clean lines to take center stage. Naturally, the bride completed her look with understated gold jewelry and classic pointed-toe pumps.
While the ceremony itself was an impromptu affair organized by Carter on the Forrester runway, the fashion was anything but rushed. Daphne’s dress was apparently one designed and made by Forrester Creations’ own Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye), at the request of his BFF.
Daphne wowed not just with her vows, but her look was everything! EVERYTHING!
Major credit goes to the hair, wardrobe, and makeup departments at The Bold and the Beautiful for delivering a bride-ful masterpiece. One to be remembered for ages to come.
