It’s the moment General Hospital fans have been waiting for—Kathleen Gati is finally back on our screens today as Dr. Liesl Obrecht!
In the storyline, young Rocco (Finn Carr) is on a mission to learn more about the woman who gave birth to him, Britt Westbourne. That’s where Obrecht comes in, as she’s Britt’s mother.
Once Rocco learned the truth about his birth, he became eager for answers. To that end, he reaches out via email and introduces himself to Obrecht as her former grandson. The two are set to meet up in today’s episode.
This appearance is Gati’s first since December 2023, when we last saw Liesl shutting down Scotty’s (Kin Shriner) attempt at reconciliation. But Kathleen Gati isn’t the only familiar face returning this week.
Kelly Thiebaud is also set to return in the Friday, July 18th episode. However, we don’t yet know if she’s returning as Britt Westbourne or if she’ll be playing a different character. Viewers will remember that Britt was tragically killed by “The Hook” (aka Heather Webber) and sadly took her last breath in her mother’s arms.
In light of her return, Gati may have added a little fuel to the fire. Just yesterday, she teased on X (formerly Twitter): “The sun’ll come out… tomorrow.” Hmm, we can’t wait.
