Looks like Port Charles is about to get a new Police Commissioner.
The latest spoilers from Soap Opera Digest let us know that while Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) is recovering from a kidney transplant, Mayor Laura Webber (Genie Francis) needs someone she can trust to take over the role of acting Police Commissioner. And who better than Mac Scorpio? Mac (John J. York) last served as police chief back in 2012 before becoming the manager of The Floating Rib, and he knows his way around the job.
York stated in the magazine that he was thrilled when he was approached by Frank Valentini, executive producer, about the upcoming storyline. He also gushed about the opportunity to work with Genie Francis in the coming scenes. “Genie is an absolute blast to work with. She has a great sense of humor.”
As for what Commissioner Scorpio will get into during his time on the force, York says that Mac grows concerned about Lulu Spencer’s (Emme Rylan) latest assignment for The Invader. Lulu is undercover trying to fish out a criminal who uses an online dating service to scope out women and rob them. Noting that Mac will confront Lulu’s boss Peter August (Wes Ramsey) about his concerns not only for Lulu but for his step-daughter Maxie (Kirsten Storms), who Peter is dating, as well. He is questioning the judgment of a man who will so easily put a woman in danger for an article.
