In a recent YouTube episode, Maurice Benard (Sonny, General Hospital) opened up about his latest anxiety struggle, which forced him to take a break from work and nearly resulted in a temporary recast. Benard hopped on Instagram to set the record straight, because it looks like some persons might have gotten the wrong idea from his comments.

Addressing the matter, Benard captioned a video clip posted to his Instagram account, “During one of my @mbstateofmind I mentioned that I could be temporarily recast if I didn’t get back to work. And I totally understood @entinifrank3c12 and @generalhospitalabc were nothing less than incredible. Frank spoke to my wife, Paula every day and spoke to me nothing but generous. 2 weeks is a long time, and I was so ready to get back to work!!!”

In the video clip, Maurice Benard stated, “I like to bring something up, just to clarify something. During a rough period recently, I spoke about being recast. And I can’t tell you how generous, great, and amazing Frank Valentini was during that period. But I guess it kind of seemed that some people thought that he was threatening me in some kind of way to recast if I didn’t come back, and that wasn’t the case at all. It was [the] exact opposite. So, you know, Frank is very, very generous when it comes to that. I gotta tell you—ever since I’ve known him. So, it all worked out.” Watch below:
