The Young and the Restless and General Hospital alum, Meg Bennett has died at the age of 75.

Meg Bennett was a great multitasker, pulling double duty on shows like The Young and the Restless and General Hospital during her career. According to reports, Bennett died at the age of 75 on April 11 after a battle with cancer.

Meg Bennett Dies At 75

During her illustrious career, Bennett played the role of Julia Newman on Y&R starting in 1980. Julia was the wife of Eric Braeden’s Victor Newman. When her character was written off, Bennett was asked by Bill Bell (Y&R’s creator) to stick around as a writer.

Meg Bennett also wrote for Santa Barbara where she also played the role of Megan Richardson. She went on over to General Hospital where she wrote and played the role of Allegra Montenegro for years. Bennett also took her writing abilities to The Bold and the Beautiful and Generations.

Meg Bennett, born on October 4, 1948, and hailing from Pasadena, leaves behind a lasting legacy. She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Robert Guza Jr., a distinguished figure as the co-creator of Sunset Beach and a nine-time Daytime Emmy Award winner for his contributions to General Hospital. In addition to her husband, Meg is also survived by her two stepdaughters, as well as four grandchildren, a brother, and a sister.
