A familiar face is coming to Days of our Lives. As previously announced, Michael Dietz joined the cast in an undisclosed role—until now. According to a newly released promo for the peacock soap opera, Dietz will make his debut next week as Dr. Jeffrey Russell. The fine doctor will play a part in the Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) story and from what we can tell, it’s going to be juicy! Per a report from TV Insider, Dietz makes his debut on April 30 for a short story arc.
Michael Dietz is a formidable presence in the soap genre. He is known for his memorable portrayal of Dr. Joe Scanlon on the General Hospital spinoff Port Charles from 1997 to 1999. Beyond Port Charles, Dietz also played the son of Clarke Garrison and Margo Maclaine on The Bold and the Beautiful and had a gig on Passions. He also made a notable impact by stepping in as a replacement for the role of Alan-Michael Spaulding on Guiding Light.
So, are you excited about Dietz’s return to soaps? Do you hope he will eventually stick around for the long haul on Days of our Lives?
