After three years of playing father and son, Gregory Harrison has completed his tenure as Gregory Chase, father to Finn (Michael Easton) and Chase (Josh Swickard) on General Hospital. His character was in a storyline where he battled ALS and peacefully passed away in his sleep from heart failure.
The poignant exit unfolded after Gregory officiated his son’s wedding to Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton). He returned home and offered an apology to Finn, and then retired for the evening. A touching montage played as he drew his last breath in his sleep, succumbing to heart failure. The next morning, Finn discovered his father’s lifeless body in bed, marking the emotional culmination of the storyline.
Gregory Harrison became a part of the ABC daytime drama in 2020 and concluded his almost four-year tenure when he made his official exit on May 21, 2024. Michael Easton expressed his admiration for Gregory Harrison on Instagram. He said, “Gregory Harrison. One of the finest actors I’ve ever had the privilege of working with and an even better human being. I learned so much from you, my friend, and it was an absolute honor to get to share a stage with you these past three years. Your talent, grace and powerful presence will be greatly missed around the studio.“
