In the latest General Hospital comings & goings news Michael Easton is vacating his role as Dr. Hamilton Finn on GH. His last airdate is Thursday, June 27, 2024.

Rumors have been swirling for weeks about his exit, but Easton took to Instagram to confirm the news himself:

Eason said: “I’ve always been partial to the Irish goodbye. That’s where you leave the party without actually telling anyone you’re gone, but I thought you all deserve better. So I just want to let you know, I just filmed my final scenes here at General Hospital. I’ve loved every minute that I’ve been here. I want to thank the entire cast and crew for allowing me to share their stage this past 10 years. Most importantly, I want to thank all of you for the kindness and love you showing me and my family. I will never forget you. And as I walk out here for the last time and with apologies to the great Lou Gehrig, I feel like the luckiest man in the face of the earth.”

Michael Easton Exits General Hospital

Easton has had an eventful journey in daytime television. He started on Days of our Lives, where he played Tanner Scofield from 1991 – 1992. He later went on to Port Charles, a supernatural spinoff of General Hospital where he played a pivotal role in shaping the vampire character Caleb Morley.

Subsequently, he portrayed Detective John McBain on One Life to Live, a role that spanned nine years. He then went over to General Hospital to continue to playing John McBain when OLTL was cancelled. After that, he played Dr. Silas and Clay and later Dr. Hamilton Finn, an infectious disease specialist with a unique fondness for waistcoats and a pet bearded dragon named Roxy. Michael Easton’s compelling performance as Finn earned him a Daytime Emmy nomination in 2018.

  1. They wrote him into a corner, with no way out. So sad. What a great guy! Now, they still need the character as you can’t kill Violet’s dad right after grandpa.

  7. Unfortunately Michael Easton’s best work has been more recently on GH. The writers have written Finn into a corner. Loved him with Violet and Chase, and he’ll be missed but I foresee Mr Easton will have success elsewhere. Cheers for your work well done 👍🏻

Why is he leaving? Is it his choice? Finn could go to rehab (if Michael wants time off) and then come back to GH fully recovered. We need our Dr. Finn. Please powers that be, bring Finn back at some point. Love him.❤

  9. My fingers and toes are crossed that he’ll come back in 90 days!!!! Come on GH writers … wake up and smell the coffee .. this is a great talent .. he can do it all!!!!!
