The Young and the Restless (Y&R) took fans by surprise this week with not one but two bombshell casting news. First, it was revealed that soap vet and Daytime Emmy Award-winner, Tamara Braun, who last appeared on Days of Our Lives as Ava Vitali, was making her way back to soaps. The actress had been tapped for the part of Sienna, who is set to hit the daytime TV screens in September.
But the surprises didn’t stop there—soon after, it was announced that soap veteran Roger Howarth, who last portrayed Dr. Austin Gatlin-Holt on General Hospital, has been tapped for a mystery role on Y&R, with his debut slated for this fall.

As the news broke, Michelle Stafford, who plays Phyllis Summers on Y&R, shared a photo on Instagram with Braun and Howarth. She captioned the post, “I could not be happier to be posting this!! Not only because these two are extra extraordinary actors, but because they are my friends!! Our show just got a little more bad ass 🖤🖤 @tamarabraun #rogerhowarth * just so you know, more surprises to come #YR #GETREADY.” Naturally, the mention of “more surprises to come” has fans speculating about additional casting news—could more be on the horizon?
