If and when the character of Chloe Lane turns up on the canvas on Days of Our Lives, it won’t be Nadia Bjorlin stepping back into those iconic shoes. Bjorlin originated the fan-favorite role back in November 1999 and portrayed Chloe across multiple stints through 2023. However, rumors have been circulating recently that the role might be recast with a General Hospital fan favorite.

Key takeaways

  • Nadia Bjorlin confirms Days asked her to return as Chloe.
  • She turned down the offer because of logistics.
  • Bjorlin says it “hurt my heart” to say no.
  • She confirmed she won’t be playing Chloe if the character returns.
  • She supports whoever takes over the role.

In a new interview with Michael Fairman—where he caught up with Bjorlin and her former DAYS co-star (and love interest in their new romantic movie Veronica & Julian) Kyler Pettis—the actress revealed why she had to say no when the show reached out to her to reprise the role for another stint.

“Logistically, It Just Didn’t Make Sense”

When addressing what she could share about the situation, Bjorlin was careful not to cross any lines. “Oh, I’m not allowed,” she shared regarding the confidential details, before setting the record straight. “What I can confirm is that they did ask me, but logistically, it just didn’t make sense. It just didn’t make any sense, and I said no.”

Living in Ireland with her husband, Grant Turnbull, and their two sons makes commuting for a soap schedule no easy feat. Looking back on making the tough choice, she admitted, “It hurt my heart to have to say no.” She added, “So, I guess I can confirm that it will not be me playing Chloe if there’s a Chloe that comes back.”

Passing the Torch to a New Chloe

Even though she won’t be returning, Bjorlin gave her full blessing to whoever might take on the role next.

It’s a different chapter of my life,” Bjorlin mused. “I wish another actor all the best, obviously, and whatnot, if that was their decision. It’s okay. I’m okay because they did ask me and I said no.”

Hearing that Nadia herself gives the green light definitely softens the blow for longtime fans, but it’s still hard to imagine anyone else in the role that she built from the ground up!
