Nathan Owens is celebrating a major soap victory. The actor, who made his debut on The Young and the Restless in January 2025 as Holden Novak, is now officially part of one of the core families in Genoa City.
For months, not much was known about Holden’s background. But that has all changed in a big way.
A Shocking Family Reveal
With the returns of Shemar Moore and Vivica A. Fox as Malcolm Winters and Dr. Stephanie Simmons, a major bombshell finally dropped. Holden was revealed to be their son.
That officially makes him part of the Winters family, and it is a huge shift for the character moving forward.
Taking to Instagram to celebrate, Owens shared behind-the-scenes photos and wrote, “Anchored into one of the 4 families of Genoa City, Holden is now OFFICIALLY a member of the Winters bloodline! Feeling pretty blessed to be working alongside this group right here. Talented individuals that I’ve watched on screen for a good portion of my life are now my on screen family, wild! 🙌🏽 – Cheers to @youngandrestlesscbs for making this happen as well as the fans for tuning in.”
His onscreen mom, Vivica A. Fox, jumped into the comments with love, writing, “LUVS YA TONS TONS SON! #SoapLife #Y&R.”
What This Means Going Forward
With this reveal, Holden is now also the half-brother of Lily Winters, which opens the door to a lot of new story possibilities.
This changes everything for his place in Genoa City and ties him directly into one of the show’s most important families.
So what do you think about this twist? How do you feel about Holden being a Winters?
