It’s an exciting development for William Lipton (Cameron Webber, General Hospital). Amazon is venturing into North Carolina with the talented creators of Netflix’s hit series Outer Banks. The retail/streaming giant has greenlit a compelling eight-episode music drama called The Runarounds as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

This series follows a post-high school band as they strive to achieve success in the music industry. While not a spinoff, The Runarounds features the same group – The Runarounds – that was introduced in a season three episode of the widely popular young adult drama on Netflix, Outer Banks.

William Lipton’s New Series with The Runarounds

It is helmed by OBX co-creator Jonas Pate, with a teleplay from David Wilcox (Fringe). The series will feature the band’s actual members, including William Lipton, Axel Ellis, Jeremy Yun, Zendé Murdock, and Jesse Golliher, as well as Lilah Pate and Kelley Pereira.

The pilot for The Runarounds was directed by Jonas Pate in 2022 and will be executive produced by Pate, Wilcox, Joon Yun, OBX creators Josh Pate and Shannon Burke, as well as Lisa Mae Fincannon, Scott Lambert, and Skydance TV’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell. The band also performed on General Hospital when they sang Darlin, Darling in the September 6th episode in 2022. The Runarounds band was formed back in 2020.
