Honoring standout performances and achievements from the first half of 2025, this year’s awards spotlight talent from five daytime dramas. Yes, you read that right—five—with the addition of Beyond the Gates, which joined the daytime lineup in February.

Starting next week, a panel of judges will cast their votes to select one winner per category. Then, on July 2nd, you’re invited to tune in to the LIVE awards episode, beginning at 7 PM Central on X (formerly Twitter), as the winners are revealed.

And this year’s recipient of The Chat Award for Excellence in Daytime Drama is none other than Tamara Tunie, lead actress of Beyond the Gates, where she portrays Anita Dupree, matriarch of the Dupree family.

All five soaps will be vying for the crown as they’ve all earned nominations in key categories including Best Drama Series, Best Writing, and Best Directing.

The Chat launched its inaugural awards on June 26, 2024. The popular podcast, hosted by a team of Casey, Tiggz, Rodrigo, Alan, and Chaz, is known for its lively weekly discussions on everything from fan-favorite TV series to the latest entertainment buzz. If you haven’t tuned in yet, now’s the time to start. Just a heads-up: maybe don’t listen while sipping hot tea—the hosts’ unfiltered takes are hilarious enough to make you spit it out.

Tune in on July 2nd to find out who wins! (Photos: ABC/CBS/JPI.)
