OWN’s new hit TV show Ambitions gets better
every week. This is must-see TV like we knew it would be. Let’s recap this week’s episode!

Mr. Mayor (Evan Lancaster) had his hands very full this week
with two of the women in his life neither of which were his wife. This week’s
episode opened with Evan receiving word that the U.S. Attorney’s office, was at
that very second, interviewing his mistress. Evan like many of us assumed it was mistress Bella and he frantically tried to reach her by phone. But in fact, it was his other mistress, work wife,
Daphne Manning who was camped out on Amara’s hot seat. Actually, mistress number one was
right outside of his office waiting to meet with him. We will get back to that in a second. Evan’s work
wife initially was chastised by Amara for exercising poor judgment by having an affair with her married colleague, Mayor Lancaster. It didn’t take Amara long to end up accusing
Daphne of accepting kickbacks, contract skimming and misappropriating funds from government contracts. Daphne played tough in front of Amara. But Mr. Mayor we aren’t
sure Daphne can take the heat. You might want to keep both eyes on her.

Okay back to Bella. The fashion designer was waiting to see
Evan to ask him to help her secure concession space
for a Bella True Boutique at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Aiport.
Hold up. Wasn’t it just last week Bella called on Evan to help her when she was
in the park trying to do a photo shoot with no permit and Evan told her he was
too busy to help? We thought so. She couldn’t use her relationship with Mr.
Mayor for help with a permit but now she was asking him for commercial space at
one of the busiest airports in the country? Okay, Bella why not? Go ahead. Nothing beats a failure but a try. Bella
told Evan she was taking his advice and being her own best advocate.
There are one hundred million travelers who pass through the airport each year
and she wanted a piece of the action. Evan was noncommittal as usual. But Bella literally had him by the balls and told him he
needed to play “ball.”

At Purifoy Pharmaceuticals the battle lines were drawn
between Titus and the boss’s daughter, Purifoy’s Head of PR, Lori. Titus pulled
rank and pulled Lori’s unapologetic and aggressive ads from the paper. Lori let
Titus know in no uncertain terms that he’d best recognize his presence at Purifoy was temporal whereas hers’ was eternal. Titus who knows the corporate game knew it most likely to
be true. However, he made sure to let Lori know that while he was there
he was going to do his job and he wasn’t going to be minimalized or ignored. Game
on
.

Stephanie tired of daddy Stephen and hubby Evan not getting
the job done of keeping Carlisle Perkins Law Firm’s number one client, Greg
Peters, happy decided to take matters into her own hands. She used her beauty,
the allure of money, the fact that Rondell hadn’t been honest with her father about the amount of the offer, psychology and anything else she could come up with on Senior to convince him to accept Peters’ offer to buy Thelma’s Place. I’m with you Steph. I’d do anything to keep
Mr. Peters happy too! Lawd he’s fine.

Blair Underwood from L.A. Law (Titus) and Claire Huxtable
(Stephanie) ran into each other at one of Atlanta’s favorite watering hole’s. Titus
still remembers Stephanie’s favorite drink is a Manhattan! Yes!

Titus and
Amara’s daughter, Deja, came for a visit to attend a rock concert fully made over
looking like a “Goth Black Barbie” with her Goth Ken AKA Razr on her arm. Titus and
Amara handled that pretty well. My parents wouldn’t have let me back out the
door! LOL.
Evan, Bella, and Roderick had a threesome of sorts. Well,
maybe a two plus one. Whatever you want to call it. While Evan was visiting
Bella (trying to cool things off between them for a while), Roderick (Bella’s single beau) came a calling too. And Evan got stuck hiding closed off in a room listening
to the sounds of their lovemaking and the sounds of ecstasy escaping Bella’s satisfied lips. OMG. We
don’t know if Roderick has a sixth sense. Maybe he has bubonic hearing and
heard Evan’s breathing on the opposite side of the loft behind the closed door. We don’t know. We do know whatever it was told him when he left Bella’s place to stay close by and he saw Evan leaving. Whoa.

Over dinner, Stephanie again questioned Carly’s choice of
careers. Carly did take the time to look up from checking out Lori on her social media page to
let her mom know again that she had no interest in law school. She was going to
be an actress and nobody ever asked Viola Davis what was her GPA in college.
Stephanie told her daughter with a laugh she was no Viola Davis. Ouch. That sent Carly straight to where she wanted to
be in Lori’s arms.

Titus and Amara spent a nice quiet evening at home
reconnecting and playing Twister. Side note; how gorgeous was Essence in that
profile shot with her hair cascading above her head? Gorgeous. Titus
made a solemn promise to Amara not to mention Damian Collins’ name ever again. He was
ready to leave the past in the past. So does that mean he’s going to stop
daydreaming about touching Stephanie’s hair? We are asking for a friend. In any
event, Stephanie made no such promise. Nick tracked Mr. Collins down and Stephanie
took a quick trip to meet Mr. Collins face to face. Damian, like all the men of Ambitions, is “foine.” Welcome to Birmingham!

Can’t wait for next week!
