Emily O’Brien is the performer of the week! This week, Days of Our Lives reopened a troubled chapter in the life of Theresa Donovan and by proxy Brady Black and their son Tate.
At the tail end of last week, Theresa couldn’t handle the situation with Tate heading out of state to a juvenile detention center and fell back into old habits to seek a moment’s reprieve and “be happy.”
Emily O’Brien commanded our attention and sympathy for Theresa while portraying a woman about to throw away every ounce of progress she’s made since originally kicking the habit. Guilt over poor choices, karmic retribution, and being a negative influence was the apparent fuel, including the forbidden kiss she planted on Brady!
At Theresa’s highest high, O’Brien was convincing, but upon sobriety, O’Brien brought real, undeniable life to Theresa Donovan. O’Brien’s mastery of the material, deep understanding of the state of mind her character finds herself in, along with the master craftsmanship in the art of Daytime Storytelling has earned her the achievement this week.
