It was one helluva week in Port Charles on General Hospital—one packed with secrets, emotional detonations, and a Nurses Ball no one will forget anytime soon. As drama unfolded faster than Anna (Finola Hughes) and Chase’s (Josh Swickard) tango, viewers found themselves giving standing ovations from their couches. Many brought their A-game, but Soap Opera News’ standout performer is: Amanda Setton, who delivered a powerhouse performance as Brook Lynn Quartermaine Chase.

So, what went down?

Brook Lynn had been harboring a major secret: years ago, she gave up a baby for adoption—a child she didn’t even know the gender of. But when Lulu got her hands on the details, she just couldn’t stay out of it. Eventually, she suspected that the child might be Gio (Giovanni Mazza). Her suspicions led her to Lois (Rena Sofer), who held the missing puzzle piece. Naturally, this revelation came to a head backstage at the Nurses Ball and Gio, the unsuspecting violinist, overheard the bombshell convo moments before taking the stage.

Instead of playing, he dropped a different kind of note: announcing his performance was dedicated to his parents—Brook Lynn and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna). The crowd was stunned. Brook Lynn was stunned. Honestly, who wouldn’t be?

What followed was a raw, emotional confrontation between Brook Lynn and Lois that showcased Amanda Setton in full command of her craft. The heartbreak, the fury, the confusion—it was all there, delivered with nuance and a gut-punch of truth. Setton didn’t just play the moment—she owned it.

Amanda Setton is talent. She is a star. She is a master in this genre.
