Soap Opera News names Amanda Setton, who plays Brook Quartermaine Chase on General Hospital, as the performer of the week!

Brook Lynn and Chase have navigated a series of challenging obstacles one after the other. After discovering he would be unable to father a child, Brook Lynn, who had been harboring a secret since her teenage years, finally mustered the courage to reveal the truth: she had a baby as a teenager and placed the child up for adoption. What she left out of her big reveal, however, was that Dante, his best friend, is the father.

In the world of soap operas, secrets like these have the potential to blow up and come back to haunt you, and this week, that reality struck hard when Lulu stumbled upon this juicy tidbit. Naturally, Lulu was eager to spill the beans, especially given the fact that she and Brook Lynn have never been close allies.

Amanda Setton is the Performer of the Week

Brook Lynn faced an emotional upheaval upon learning that Lulu discovered her secret through notes found in Martin’s hotel suite, and on top of that, she also found out that the child she gave up was a boy (Hello, Gio!). Lulu delivered an ultimatum, but Brook Lynn passionately pleaded with her, reminding Lulu of her own past and the damage that a secret like this coming to light could cause. Ultimately, Lulu agreed to keep the secret but urged Brook Lynn to eventually tell Dante the truth—he deserves to know.

Amanda Setton delivered a performance that was raw, real, and gut-wrenching—her portrayal was spot-on and undoubtedly the standout of the week. Congratulations on being named Soap Opera News’ Performer of the Week! (Photo: ABC)
