Finola Hughes (Anna DeVane on General Hospital) indisputably stole the spotlight this week and is Soap Opera News’ performer of the week. With her extensive experience in the soap opera genre, Hughes once again delivered a stellar performance during the week of July 15 – 19, 2024.
In a compelling twist on the show, Anna confronted Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) about his ties to Pikeman. This week, Anna obtained vital evidence via the satellite phone and passed it to Jason (Steve Burton), who in turn delivered it to the FBI.
When Anna faced Valentin, she informed him that the FBI would be coming for him, as she had turned him in. She instructed him to get his things and flee. He then begged her to go on the run with him. However, she turned him down.
These goodbye scenes were profoundly intense, emotional, and raw. Once again, Finola Hughes delivered a riveting performance—a true masterclass. Congratulations to Hughes on being named the performer of the week!
