Cyrus Renault went out with a BANG—literally—and Jeff Kober was chosen as Soap Opera News’ performer of the week for his outstanding work on General Hospital!
General Hospital is blessed with a fine company of good actors, and we are often reminded in climactic, dramatic scenes like what aired this week on the ABC daytime drama. Kober, an Emmy Award-winning actor, was right up in his masterful element this week, giving back-to-back performances that made many go, “OMG!”
In the scenes that aired, Cyrus paid Elizabeth a surprise but very unwelcome visit at her place. Why? He wanted to talk, and things really took a dark turn—quickly!
Liz (Rebecca Herbst was another scene stealer this week) got Cyrus to confess to killing Dex, Sam, trying to end Lulu’s life, and Michael’s. It was clear Kober played this deranged reformed man of God to T; he missed no beats!

Cyrus also had a showdown with Lucky, who rushed in to save Liz from getting injected with that syringe. Only Lucky got jabbed instead! After Cyrus made his escape, he had another showdown, this time with Joss, whom he found going through his belongings. She wasted no time calling him out on his little killing spree.
The so-called reformed man of God reached for an axe and was ready to end Joss’ life, but little did he know, she was armed with a gun and shot him several times in the chest.
In his last and final moments, his final words to Joss were, “Now, you’re the murderer.”
What a way to go out! Jeff Kober will be missed on the show for sure; he’s such a good actor. Congrats on being chosen as the performer of the week!
