Nancy Lee Grahn took the world to the acting class this week with her masterful performance as Alexis Davis on General Hospital. It’s no surprise she has been chosen as Soap Opera News’ performer of the week.

This week marked the end of an era, as the storyline reached a heartbreaking climax as Kelly Monaco’s 21-year tenure ended with the tragic death of Sam McCall, Alexis’ daughter. After waking up from surgery, Dante took Sam by surprise when he asked her to marry him. Of course, being ecstatic about being a newly engaged woman, Sam couldn’t wait to share the news with her mom when she came to visit her. However, moments later, things took a sudden turn when Sam began crashing. The doctors rushed in to save her, but despite their best efforts, she didn’t survive.

Nancy Lee Grahn Is the Performer of the Week

The scene where Alexis learns about her daughter’s fate was gut-wrenching. Grahn depicted the raw emotional struggle of a mother facing an unimaginable loss. When Alexis went back to Sam’s hospital room, she insisted that her daughter was just cold and needed a blanket—this moment tuly pulled at the heartstrings and left many an emotional wreck. It’s clear why Grahn, a two-time Daytime Emmy Award winner and multiple nominee, deserves all the accolades for such a powerful performance. Hats off to Nancy Lee Grahn for showing many how it’s done and for this well-deserved recognition as performer of the week!

Also, a huge shoutout to the entire cast of GH; their performances were absolutely phenomenal this week!
