Heather Tom can truly do it all. She directs. She writes. And she acts. And this week, viewers were reminded exactly why she’s such a powerhouse as she absolutely brought the house down on The Bold and the Beautiful. Tom, who plays Katie Logan Spencer on the show, has been named Soap Opera News’ Performer of the Week for December 29–January 2, and you can’t argue with that choice.
The CBS daytime has been serving up some serious drama lately, as Brooke and Katie, two sisters with years of history, found themselves at odds once again. But this time, it wasn’t over a man. It was over a name.
What Happened This Week on Bold and Beautiful?
Katie chose a name for her new fashion house, the one Bill gifted her, and as she gathered to celebrate with her sisters Brooke and Donna, she dropped the bombshell that the brand would be called Logan. Just like that, the gloves came off.
The name didn’t sit well with Brooke, or Ridge, for that matter. Brooke made it crystal clear that Logan wasn’t up for grabs. In her eyes, the name belongs to her. She’s known worldwide in the fashion industry by it, and it’s even the name her husband calls her. Case closed, or so she thought.
Katie, however, wasn’t budging. This was her fashion house, and she decided Brooke and Ridge be damned. Things escalated quickly; it got intense, emotional, and deeply personal, as a race to trademark the name unfolded. Ultimately, with a little help from Liam, Katie secured the Logan name for herself.
Brooke was furious and marched straight over to Spencer Publications to confront her sister. But this time, Katie wasn’t backing down. She made it clear that she’s not the little sister anymore and refuses to live in Brooke’s shadow anymore. She’s ready to step out on her own and make her mark in the fashion world.

What followed was pure soap gold.
Katie didn’t hold back. Through tears, smeared mascara, and raw emotion, she called Brooke out and reminded her of past misdeeds that may be buried, but not forgotten. When Brooke tried to soften the moment with an “I love you,” Katie fired back with a firm and final, “Get out.”
That is the kind of drama we live for.
Heather Tom, a six-time Daytime Emmy winner, once again proved why she’s one of the best to ever grace the genre. She packed this storyline with every emotion imaginable, missed not a single beat, and slayed every moment like the true champ she is.
