Sonny’s whole world is blowing up in more ways than one on General Hospital, but while all that chaos is going down, we’re getting some absolute masterclass performances on the ABC daytime drama! One in particular, by Nazneen Contractor as Justine Turner, stood out so much that she’s been named Soap Opera News Performer of the Week for October 5–9, 2026!

Let’s break down what went down in Port Charles and take a closer look at those intense scenes between Sonny and Justine.

Justine Confronts Sonny

After getting a statement from Curtis at the hospital, Justine learned that the men who attacked him and Sidwell specifically named Sonny as the man who ordered the hit. When Justine confronted her beau, she pointed out that Curtis was merely collateral damage and that Sidwell was the actual target—making Sonny look even more suspicious!

“What happened to innocent until proven guilty, Councilor?” Sonny asked.

Justine promised she would find the person responsible if it’s the last thing she does. In addition, she reminded Sonny that they vowed to be completely honest with each other—especially within “these walls.” Justine begged him to be honest and pleaded with him to tell her she was wrong.

“You’re wrong!” he insisted. “I didn’t give an order to attack Sidwell.”

The Evidence Piles Up

Sonny quickly realized she didn’t believe a single word coming out of his mouth.

“How can I?” Justine asked.

She laid out the evidence, noting they have video footage of Vito meeting with Sully in prison—both of whom are Sonny’s guys. Although Sonny admitted they are his men, he emphasized that he never ordered a hit. Yes, he sent Vito to Pentonville, but he explained he only sent him to deliver a message to Sully to ensure nothing like this happened.

Justine wished she could hear that directly from Vito, but they have no idea where he is hiding out. “I can’t find him,” Sonny admitted.

Justine thought the whole disappearing act was a bit too convenient.

“No, this is very inconvenient,” Sonny clarified. “Because someone is setting me up!”

Seduction, Lies, and Final Breakup

Sonny reminded her that he promised he wouldn’t kill Sidwell. Consequently, he insisted Curtis’s account wasn’t true—not that Curtis was lying about what he heard, but that whoever said it was using Sonny’s name. Sonny added that he has no clue who framed him, which only fueled Justine’s frustration. She just thinks Sonny is lying right to her face!

She couldn’t ignore the fact that Sonny despises Jenz Sidwell, and even brought up the night at Ava’s gallery. Sonny reminded her that he didn’t shoot Sidwell that night. However, Justine countered that he only backed off because she warned him she couldn’t look past it if he pulled the trigger.

Furthermore, she reminded him that their whole connection started when they were both wondering who was conning who. “Well, congratulations, Sonny. You won,” she told him coldly. “I bought your lies… hook, line, and sinker.”

Sonny begged her to look him in the eye and believe him when he told her he didn’t do it, but Justine couldn’t bring herself to do it. She admitted he did a fantastic job seducing her. Therefore, while she fell hard, she didn’t fall hard enough to abandon everything she believes in. She made it crystal clear that the party is officially over.

“Whatever this was, it’s over,” Justine declared.

Nazneen Contractor Deserves the Spotlight

Nazneen was absolute perfection throughout this entire confrontation, matching Maurice Benard step for step in every single beat. She proved once again that she has what it takes to carry raw, emotional drama and deliver high-stakes television. What an incredible job! Nazneen Contractor is thoroughly deserving of our Performer of the Week honor.
