Tears filled the halls of the hospital in L.A. as Sharon Case once again showed us how it’s done. She has been chosen as Soap Opera News’ Performer of the Week for her work as Sharon Collins on The Young and the Restless for the week of October 13–17.

What happened this week on The Young and the Restless?

Sharon traveled from Genoa City to Los Angeles to be reunited with her son, Noah Newman. But when she arrived, it was nothing but bad news after bad news. In tears, Sharon called home to inform Nick that their son had been in a terrible car accident — and the outcome was devastating.

Once Nick heard the news, delaying his L.A. trip was no longer an option. He got there as fast as he could, and together, he and Sharon faced an unthinkable moment no parent ever wants to experience.

The doctors updated them, but the news didn’t get any better. Their son had swelling on his brain and was in critical condition.

This was all too familiar — they’d been down this road before with not one but two of their children. And as fans painfully remember, Cassie did not survive.

Sharon was an emotional wreck, tears constantly streaming down her face, her voice breaking over and over as she tried to navigate the nightmare unfolding around her.

Then, a mysterious stranger appeared, claiming to be a detective. He told them that Noah’s accident was no accident at all. According to an eyewitness, someone had run Noah off the road and fled the scene. It was almost too much to bear.

But watching Sharon Case do what she does best was an absolute pleasure. Sharon tore up the screen with back-to-back, gut-wrenching performances. She slayed. She conquered. And she delivered. Sharon Case did that.
