Sharon Case just pulled off a masterclass this week as Sharon on The Young and the Restless and has been named Soap Opera News’ performer of the week.

With 30 years as the fan-favorite Sharon Newman Collins and nearly 35 years in the soap opera genre, Sharon Case has just secured her next Emmy reel for next year’s award events.

For weeks, her compelling story has unfolded as her bipolar disorder takes center stage. The storyline revisits the tragic death of her young daughter, Cassie Newman, and as the plot progresses, Sharon begun experiencing hallucinations of Cassie, who tragically died as a teenager in a car accident. Recently, Sharon has shifted from seeing visions of Cassie to being inundated with hallucinations of Cameron (Linden Ashby), a dangerous ex-lover she killed twice.

Sharon Case Is the Performer of the Week:

This week, Sharon took that dark path for a spin and—surprise—she ended up killing Heather Stevens (at least, that’s what viewers are left to believe), and Case delivered a performance so powerful it was the buzz among soap fans. With six Daytime Emmy nominations already under her belt and one shiny win, Sharon’s no newcomer to the awards game. So, hats off to Sharon Case for snagging Performer of the Week after serving us such a top-notch, heart-wrenching performance!
