Performer of the Week
There are some actors and actresses who, no matter how much time they spend away from soaps, whether long or short, never miss a beat. We know that handling emotional material can never be easy, but there are some actors in the genre for whom it seems like a breeze. Viewers have watched this Eric Forrester story unfold for the past few months. He’s sick and yet to get a proper diagnosis, and his family, while pretending they aren’t aware, is struggling emotionally. This week, Thorne and Bridget were added to the fold of family members to learn about Eric dying, and man, did we have a week of emotional moments.
Bridget returned to town excited about the party and more excited to see her family again, but her excitement was a bit short-lived as Brooke told her that her father was dying. Bridget could not help but break down in tears over the news.
Jones was genuinely remarkable. Her acting skills were on full display. Her portrayal of a daughter trying to come to terms with the news of her father’s impending death was raw and emotionally charged. Jones’ performance of Bridget’s emotional turmoil was nothing short of exceptional, leaving a lasting impression on viewers. We hope that this recognition will lead to more opportunities for her to showcase her skills on screen. Congratulations to Ashley Jones on being named Soap Opera News’ Performer of the Week for December 4th.
