Hey! Another day, another dollar, another week in soapland. We had memorials, a face that was a sight for sore eyes, a 10K dinner, a Queen went blind and of course an Honorable Mention and a Performer of the Week.

Young & The Restless;

Nikki tried to tell Victor she killed JT but he wouldn’t let her. Sharon felt guilty that Victor was in the slammer for a murder he didn’t commit. Phyllis not so much. Phyllis believed Karma was at play and wasn’t shedding a tear for a falsely imprisoned Victor. She believed it was payback for what Victor did to her and Jack. Victoria didn’t want to hear about Phyllis or her Karma. They went at it and Victoria hauled off and slapped Phyllis. Victor and Jack did a little sparring of their own (verbal only). Peter and Eric always bring out the best in each other.

Lola had a very good week. She got a contract, a big fat check (from Devon) and an “I Love You” from Kyle. Sharon /Rey and Arturo/Mia flirted with temptation but didn’t give in.  Lily appeared on our screens, yea! There was a voice and face over by Lily as Cane read a letter from her.

Reed had a memorial for his daddy. Mac and Traci came in town to pay their respects. Traci and Reed shared heartfelt memories of JT. All was fine until Phyllis, scared that Nikki would break down and confess to murdering JT, took it upon herself and spilled piping hot tea right in the middle of the memorial service. She told everyone who didn’t know (including Reed) that JT physically and emotionally abused Victoria. According to Phyllis, she couldn’t just sit there while everyone acted like JT was a saint. Hey, Phyllis, that was exactly what you should have done.  In the best irony, after all of Phyllis’ shenanigans, Nikki saw a fire poker at Nick’s, had the worst case of deja vu and our Friday cliffhanger was Nikki’s confession to Nick.

The Bold & The Beautiful

Brooke, Bill & Ridge made it to Catalina all excited to see baby Beth only to hear the traumatic news.  Brooke and Hope’s tears were ours.  There was a memorial for Beth at Eric and Quinn’s. Family and friends came to support Liam and Hope. Our tissues got a workout. The Logan Ladies, Steffy/Liam got us all in our feels. But Taylor/Brooke and especially Steffy/Hope had us grabbing for extra tissues. Those scenes were beautifully crafted and performed. They mirrored the beauty and strength of the human spirit and its ability to rise about hostility, animosity, and bitterness to extend sympathy and spread love and compassion. But Ridge didn’t get that memo lol. He didn’t miss the chance to tell Bill once again that Brooke was his his his.

Dr. Reese seemed distraught about what happened to Beth. And we (the audience and Taylor) were all shocked (no we weren’t but we have to act like we were okay?) at the cliffhanger Friday when Dr. Reese walked in the room with a newborn baby.

General Hospital

Oscar’s medical trial didn’t shrink his tumor. Drew, Kim and all of his loved ones tried to come to grips with the reality that Oscar would die. But Joss, lil Carly, wasn’t ready to give up and was still prepared to fight. Cameron faced the music and the Judge regarding his marijuana charges.  Cam and momma Liz spoke on his behalf. But it was Drew’s impassioned speech in support of Cam that softened the Judge’s, usual hardened heart. She ordered drug counseling, community service and one-year probation. No juvi or hard time for Cam.

Election Watch Night ended with Laura victorious and the new Mayor of Port Charles. The PCPD uncovered a link between the murders from 25 years ago and today. The serial killer then and now collected trophies, the victim’s drivers license. Ryan keeps them in his/Kevin’s office. Jasam confronted Hank/Shiloh who insisted it was a coincidence and fate that had him in Port Charles in the same city as Sam. The same Sam who stole his father’s money and his inheritance. Say dude, nobody believed that. Ryan asked Ava to leave Port Charles with him for good. At the same time, Franco was in Ryan’s office looking for his medical records and getting real close to the trophies. Anna was talking to Peter, got a searing pain in her head, collapsed and got up blind. We have no idea where this is headed so we will keep our comments to ourselves….for now.

Days of Our Lives

A clad only towel Xander got Leo all hot and bothered (me too). Leo agreed to give Xander information about how he became Mr. Kiriakis to help Xander secure a position at Titan in exchange for what was underneath Xander’s towel. Xander told Leo “I don’t roll that way.” Leo told Xander where to find him when he changed his mind. The DiMera board booted out an arrested Stefan. Chad returned to the DiMera throne although he declared he’d turned away from his Stefano-like ways. Hope, on the other hand, continued hers. She offered a deal to Stefan if he would flip on Ben. Again, what happened to our Fancy Face?

Haley, Melinda Trask’s baby sister, has a big bad secret. Eric decided not to fight Chloe for custody of Holly. Abby and Ciara had a long-awaited chat about Ben. Abby spoke her truth and told Ciara to run fast and far away from Ben. Ciara told her big cousin that she thought Abby of all people would have empathy for someone who committed crimes when mentally ill. Welp. Ciara and Ben…sniff. Ben kidnapping Gabi, conspiring with Claire to break up her and Tripp and lying to her about it was too much for Ciara.  Ciara packed her bags for South Africa to visit Theo to put distance between herself and Ben. The 10K Shakespearean Deveraux Dinner was awkward, tense, funny, reminiscent with Jack and Jennifer quoting Shakespeare. Winner.

Performers of the Week

Our Honorable Mention of the Week is Melody Thomas Scott! There is nothing we love more than when our vets sparkle. Nikki had a rough week (several actually) and Melody has ingeniously led us through them all.  From the time Nicole Reed Newman steadied herself before Victor came in the room at the detention facility through her fire poker trauma murder confession, Melody was….werking. Nikki was upset, shaken, tormented, guilt-ridden, terrified, unstable and sorrowful. Her tears, tremors and terror were artfully depicted. Ever since Nikki whacked JT over the head with that poker, Melody hasn’t missed a beat and it has been sweet music to our eyes and ears. Kudos Melody!

Our Performer of the Week is Scott Clifton!  We didn’t forget about him. Liam and Hope…. if your soap heart hasn’t been shattered….All of the actors at The Bold and Beautiful were exceptionally well last week. Annika’s work was just as good as the week before. But it’s Scott’s turn to to get his much deserved praise. Scott didn’t even need a script last week everything was etched on his face. Literally, everything you needed to know, experience and feel was written there. Scott gave Liam the best balance of sorrow and strength. Liam barely left Hope’s side while trying not to breakdown himself. During the moments between the Spencer Men and Liam and Steffy, Scott left us barely holding on ourselves. We were overcome with despair by just looking at Scott.  A Leading Man Emmy Award Winner is coming for it again! Great work Scott!
