Performer of the Week: Days of Our Lives’ Alison Sweeney!

Our favorite hot mess! There is no doubt that Sami brings a fun… and chaotic energy to Salem thanks to the wonderfully talented Alison Sweeney. This week, we saw a glimpse into the method behind her madness. Putting all her focus on trying to get Nicole to confess to cheating with Xander, she attempted to draw Lucas into her plotting. Lucas, who is arguably the only person who truly understands the way Sami’s mind works, called her out on the real reason why she was trying to take down Nicole. And that was because of the guilt she felt for cheating on EJ. 

Ali plays Sami’s wild side with perfection but we absolutely love it when she breaks down the walls she puts up around her heart. When we get to see why Sami does the things she does. We may not always agree and understand her antics but she only does them as a method of self-preservation. 

General Hospital

The Quartermaines gushed over their new addition to the family as Valentin prepares to sign over the promised ELQ shares. However, Ned began to have a change of heart about the transaction, asking Brook Lynn to forget about the shares and to get rid of Valentin. Curtis’ loved ones gathered by his side as he recovered from his injuries. Aunt Stella, who noticed the connection between Portia and Curtis, gave her a warning about pushing him into something so soon after his breakup. Maxie struggled to be away from her baby as she continued to weave the tale of how Louise went missing. Jax used his knowledge of Michael and Willow’s relationship as leverage to blackmail Michael into agreeing to let Nina be part of Wiley’s life. Nina and “Mike” started to give in to their feelings for each other after talking to Phyllis and Lenny. But their time together was short-lived after Michael called Nina back to Port Charles to spend time with Wiley. Jax and Carly found themselves at odds over her new position at the head of Sonny’s business and his insistence that Nina gets to be part of Wiley’s life. 

Finn’s last-ditch effort to save Chase failed, leaving them struggling with the fact that Chase was probably going to die. Willow, who had stayed by his side, agreed to marry him as they prepared for the worst. Nikolas’ bid to buy Pentonville was turned down. Shawn’s parole hearing didn’t go as planned when his release was denied. Alexis became suspicious when talking about the injustices of Judge Carson’s sentences. Ava got a shock when a photo of her with a knife through it was found in the house. Dante, who was investigating, wondered if Nikolas was the true target. Liesl and Anna bonded at a smash house. Cyrus made a couple last-ditch efforts to get Laura to speak on his behalf to the US Attorney, but his plan was upended when Martin was able to locate their mother. Phyllis and “Mike” grew concerned when Lenny collapsed, revealing that he was hiding the extent of his heart condition from Phyllis. Gladys revealed that she planned to stay in Port Charles and move in with Brando. Valentin called Brook Lynn out on her feelings for Chase when she asked him about his relationship with Anna. 

The Young and the Restless

Victoria and Ashland continued to get to know each other as he asked her to join him on his trip back to New York. She even opened up to him about raising a child that isn’t biologically hers, which led to him dropping his ultimatum given to Tara about keeping Kyle out of Harrison’s life. The move left Kyle and Tara both suspicious of his motives. Summer and Kyle set a date for their wedding much to the frustration of their parents. Jack was forced to reveal the truth about Harrison to Billy when he discussed the idea of doing an article on Ashland. Victor and Adam continued to be at odds over how to approach Billy’s attack against Newman Media. Seeing how Victor was frustrated after meeting with Adam, Nikki warned Adam about causing too much stress for Victor. Sally continued to plot against Summer as she confronted Tara about her lingering feelings for Kyle. Ashland also gave Sally a number for a man who could help her secure a new job position for Summer out of town: Eric Forrester. 

Amanda was confused by Sutton shutting her out with her proposed new strategy for his case as she wants to expose the truth about Naya’s past. Sutton ran into Victor and almost slipped up when he mentioned his granddaughter and working with Amanda. Victor noticed the slip and called Amanda to talk about her real connection to Sutton. Elena told Nate that she received a great job offer out of town. Kyle went to Lauren on Tara’s behalf to get her a job interview. Chloe, still curious and confused by Adam’s job offer, ultimately decided to accept. Adam told Chelsea that he was bringing Connor back to town but was unsure that he should visit her in the facility. Michael went to Rey with the fear that Chloe had helped Chelsea with her crimes. Rey then visited Chelsea to ask her about having help and was left with the conclusion that she did indeed have assistance and was lying to everyone.

The Bold and the Beautiful

The truth about Vinny’s accident spread to the Forresters, which left them all shaken. Hope brought in Justin as Liam’s lawyer and vowed to see that he is released. Quinn and Carter were still having trouble with guilt as they tried to move on. Paris expressed her issues about Shauna to Flo, who had no clue about her mother’s supposed affair with Carter. Shauna was upset when she was forced to lie to Flo about the fake affair. Paris later overheard Shauna and Quinn talking about the affair and confronted Shauna about the lie. Shauna admitted the truth but tried to convince Paris to keep quiet for everyone’s sake. Carter proposed to Zoe and she excitedly said yes. Shauna ran to Quinn with the news that Paris knew the truth about her relationship with Carter. 

Days of Our Lives

Ava and Sami had a surprisingly peaceful moment as they talked about their shared grandchild.

Gwen had to tell a relentless Xander about being forced to deliver the drugs. Wanting to protect Jack from any potential fallout, Xander confronted Dr. Snyder about the ordeal. Jack expressed that he has hope that Gwen is taking a turn for the better, but Steve and Kayla weren’t buying what he was selling. Allie and Tripp shared another kiss but her memories of her rape stopped her from moving forward. She reached out to Marlena, seeking advice on closure and her feelings about Chanel. Abe revealed to Paulina that he planned to accept Chanel’s business proposal. Chanel was confused by the business plans that Paulina had in her room, which made it seem like she was building one big building instead of several locally-owned shops. Tripp reached out to Kayla for advice on how to help Allie. Nicole received marriage advice from Abe. After hearing about Gwen’s awkward encounter with Dr. Snyder from Tripp, Kayla went to visit her to get more information. Lucas was able to get Sami to open up about her guilt about cheating on EJ and taking that out on Nicole. He asked her if she was in love with him too and wanted to give them another shot just as EJ showed up at her door.
