Our Performer of the Week is General Hospital’s Kelly Thiebaud!
Oh, what could have been!! Britt doesn’t have many people that she considers close enough to open herself up to emotionally. So when she found herself growing closer to Jason while on the run, even sharing her fears surrounding her Huntington’s diagnosis, we were excited by the prospects of this pairing. Their budding romance seemed to be just what they both needed at this time. Unfortunately, Jason’s commitment to the Corinthos family will always come before everything – and everyone – else. To protect the family from threats of outsiders and establish dominance in the mob world, Jason and Carly decided to get married to show a united front. The move would, of course, mean the end of his relationship with Britt, who was just beginning to believe that they could truly be something special.
Her planned romantic evening was quickly tarnished as Jason revealed the news of his impending nuptials. Kelly delivered a devastating performance as Britt believed that she had once again been foolish enough to let someone see the parts of her that weren’t polished, the parts of her that she worked so hard to keep hidden from the world. Jason, who was falling for her as well, offered to still be there for her. Her anger and hurt, however, would not allow for anything that she considered pity. Kelly Thiebaud has done some beautiful work over the last few weeks. We are excited to see where the show goes next with her character!
