Performer of the Week

It’s hard to put into words just how good Y&R’s Mark Grossman (Adam) and Courtney Hope (Sally) were this week. Every scene they had was more powerful than the last and they just kept coming. Together, alone, and with others they knocked it out of the park every single time. Adam was faced with the impossible decision of doctors saving the woman he loved or having a small chance of saving their child. He made the only decision he honestly could but Sally was not in a position where she could accept that. Her pain manifested as anger towards Adam in a very believable way.

Y&R Spoilers

Adam struggled to be a support to her while grappling with his own grief and guilt and Sally was just a raw nerve unable to see past the pain of losing the child she loved so fiercely and was determined to do right by. Grossman and Hope poured everything they had into their scenes this week and left nothing in the tank. The scenes of each of them going through the memory boxes that the hospital prepared for them inspired an ugly cry in our houses, and we are sure, many others as well. And then when Sally asked to see her baby…there are no words to express the depths of emotion that evoked.

Y&R Spoilers

Mark Grossman and Courtney Hope are both solid actors and both have been nominated for a Daytime Emmy for their work but this week they elevated their crafts to amazing heights. We believe that their scenes around the loss of their child will go down in the annals of soap oper history as some of the best and most memorable of the genre and that is why we are naming Mark Grossman and Courtney Hope our Performers of the Week. Congratulations Mark and Courtney!
