Billy set off alarms with Victor and Nikki with his questions about the Newman family business while covering the Chancellor Park rededication. Jack wondered if he did the right thing when it came to pushing Kyle and Theo to compete. Theo, on the other hand, was working to prove to Lily and Billy what an asset he would be to their company. To help Phyllis, Nick offered to give Abby one of his buildings for free to renovate in exchange for her stopping construction across from the Grand Phoenix. Unfortunately, Phyllis had already set a new revenge plan in motion: setting Mastodon bones on the site to have it deemed an archaeological site. Victor shared that George, the farmhand, had assisted in covering up the crime and Adam brought him into Genoa City to corroborate. Sadly for Adam, George confirmed that Adam had been the one to kill AJ to protect his mother. Word of Phyllis and Nick’s relationship began to spread as Sharon and Summer learned the news. After talking with Phyllis, Amanda decided to put work aside to spend time with Nate. Kevin talked with Ester about his fears of raising a boy with the way he grew up. She also shared her own concerns about being a good mother and grandmother because Chloe grew up without a father.

Setting off a little mystery for the Abbott kids as she asked for “Bixby,” which was what they called John’s camera they used to film their home movies with. Victoria offered Sharon her support as she wondered if Sharon was keeping something hidden from everyone. Jack advised Victor to step away from Adam because he was too toxic. Tessa turned down a huge festival opportunity to stay with Mariah and help keep her sane as she took on more work to help Sharon. Elena and Nate seemed to be getting a little too close for comfort as Devon spent his day working with Amanda. A distraught Adam went to Sharon for help as he wants to remember what happened with AJ. Nick tried to stop Adam from bothering Sharon, revealing her cancer diagnosis. Even after being advised to not go down this route again, Sharon decided to help Adam with his therapy.

Days of Our Lives

Vincent followed Ben to Salem on Eve’s order as he worked to complete Ben’s brainwashing, intercepting his session. Allie holds her baby for the first time and after talking with Sami finally made a decision about what to do with him…which was for Eric and Nicole to raise him as she ran off. Forgiveness was going around as Will and Sami worked passed their issues and Sonny forgave Will. Bonnie was surprised when Justin offered to be her legal representative in her battle over her book royalties.

Jack and Jennifer’s romantic night was ruined by constant interruptions at the hands of Gwen, Gabi, and Jake. Abe and Kate enjoyed their time together as their business dinner turned into a more friendly affair. Chad returns to town after hearing about Gabi’s latest scheme. Gwen agreed to continue to help Chad in exchange for him helping her make Jake jealous. When he turned her down she kissed him, getting busted by Gabi in the process. Hope agreed to rejoin the force on Rafe’s insistence. Working closely together led to a close moment that was interrupted by Ciara. Hope ultimately decided that the two should just be friends for now.

Gabi was shocked when Jake’s “lack of class” was able to close the deal for DiMera. Claire caught Eve slinking around town in a wig and confronted her for her crimes. While Eve didn’t deny her involvement in the church explosion or Ben’s kidnapping, she did act like she had no idea about who was framing Claire. Claire tried to appeal to Eve’s humanity and turn herself in but Eve got away, leaving Claire to run to Ben and Ciara about what she knew.

Nelle fired Martin as her lawyer before the final hearing began. Against her better judgment, Sam signed over her children’s voting proxy to Valentin as he got her parole officer changed. Ned was left bewildered as he learned that Valentin now owned 50% of ELQ stock…and had Lucy’s tie-breaking vote in his pocket because he is her sole investor for Deception. With the controlling vote, Valentin opted not to help out the hospital and to elect himself the new CEO. Curtis confronted Jordan for keeping things from him as she admitted to meeting with Cyrus alone. Jordan was forced to suck up her pride as she made a press conference in support of Cyrus, which led to him becoming chairman of the hospital board.

Little does she know that the whole thing is a ploy and Spencer and Nikolas are in this plot together. Ava’s portrait reveal doesn’t go as planned as the crowd was shocked by whatever was on the canvas.

Our Performer of the Week is The Young and the Restless’ Mark Grossman!

Mark Grossman is what I would consider a quiet powerhouse performer! He always delivers but surprises you with just how strong of performance he can turn out. This week Adam’s desperation was at the forefront as he struggled to accept that he had been the one to kill his friend’s father. Refusing to believe it at first he searched hopelessly for a sign that Victor was lying. But after getting confirmation from George, the farmhand, he had to accept the truth. Struggling with the fact he had no memory of the crime, he went to the one person he knew could help him…Sharon. Mark’s portrayal of Adam’s internal fight was raw and incredible!

Our Honorable Mentions are:

The Bold and the Beautiful’s Katherine Kelly Lang!

We just love KKL! She did a phenomenal job this week as Brooke’s romantic night turned to heartbreak as she learned her marriage was over…and that Ridge had married Shauna in Vegas. She did a great job playing Brooke’s roller coaster of emotions learning the truth! We cannot wait to see what happens next.

Days of Our Lives’ Isabel Durant!

Welcome to Salem, Isabel! Anytime a recast comes aboard it does take some time before the actor…and the audience gets comfortable. However, we were instantly impressed by Isabel’s performance as Claire Brady! She had to play two difficult scenes as Claire tried to stop Allie from leaving town and confronting Eve for her crimes. We especially enjoyed her scenes with Kassie DePaiva as Claire called out Eve for making her loved ones doubt her sanity. They were some really powerful scenes! This is only week one! We are excited to see what this star does next!
