On this past week of The Young and the Restless, Victoria
Newman (Ameliaa Heinle) got back together with Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) and
her family does not approve at all. Victoria struggled with the idea of saying goodbye to Ashland for good
and admitted to him that she was still in love with him. Heinle perfectly displayed Victoria’s
complicated feelings for Ashland. That
despite all of his mistakes, betrayal, and misdeeds, Victoria is still in love
with him. Victoria makes it known to
Ashland that she wants them to have a fresh start, out of town and away from
her family, and that she wants to take things slow. Later on, Victoria has a meeting with her
family to let them know that she will be leaving the family company and leaving
town altogether. She confronts them,
Victor (Eric Braeden) in particular, for going behind her back while she was
out of town with Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) to convince Kyle (Michael Mealor)
and Summer (Allison Lanier) into getting a restraining order so Ashland couldn’t
see his son in the hopes Ashland will leave town before Victoria returned
home. Heinle’s powerful performance
captured Victoria’s outrage, pain, betrayal, and frustration with her family
for treating her like a child and not trusting her to make her own
decisions. Victoria makes it known that
she’s claiming her independence to live her own life and that it requires her
to do it away from the family so they can’t try to dictate for her anymore. Bravo Heinle for yet another spectacular
performance!
