WOW, just WOW. After watching this week’s episodes of General Hospital, there’s only one thing to say: the actors came to serve, and serve they absolutely did. Cynthia Watros and Katelyn MacMullen completely stole the spotlight and are hands down Soap Opera News’ Performers of the Week for July 28 through August 1, 2025.

Let’s start with Willow. Just moments after discovering that her fiancé slept with her mother, Nina (although this was before they became a thing), Willow still walked down the aisle. But she didn’t come to say “I do.” She came with questions. Just as it was time for her to speak her vows, she stopped everything and asked Drew if he had slept with her mother. The drama! Then, in a moment that had all our jaws on the floor, she turned around and walked out, leaving Drew at the altar.
Katelyn MacMullen delivered in the scenes that followed. Willow stormed over to Carly’s, desperate to see her kids. She was pleading, begging, and an emotional wreck. And Katelyn played every beat flawlessly. From her shaky voice and tear-filled eyes to the smudged mascara and raw heartbreak, she gave us a performance that was nothing short of a masterclass. The pain, the desperation, the sheer vulnerability—it was all there. Katelyn didn’t just act. She felt it. And so did we.

Now let’s talk about Cynthia Watros. The Queen that you are! Once again, she was in her element. Nina was torn between the guilt of her actions and the longing to be there for her daughter. Cynthia captured that emotional tug-of-war perfectly. And when she finally confronted Drew in the chapel? She let him have it. It wasn’t just a reading. It was a full-blown drag session, and Cynthia delivered every line with fire. You couldn’t look away.
Cynthia deserves an Emmy for this, no question. So does Katelyn. They both ate. These two women poured their hearts, souls, and everything in between into those scenes. Nothing felt forced. Nothing was overdone. It was raw. It was real, and it was unforgettable.
