Peter Bergman (Jack Abbott, The Young and The Restless) recently sat down for an extensive and exclusive interview with Chris O’Gorman with Questions For Cancer Research.
Fans of daytime, Y&R, The Abbotts, and Jack Abbott should do themselves a favor and take a listen and watch.
Early on, O’Gorman asked Bergman what led him to acting and when Bergman replied, “chasing girls,” we knew this interview would be a delight. And it was.
Bergman tells why he is more optimistic about the future of soaps than he was several years ago. Bergman, who is known as the consummate professional, discusses his approach to his craft. And he explains in great detail (with timelines and specifics) how he personally prepares to handle the fast pace and demands of daytime. It isn’t uncommon for him (and his scene partners) to perform sixteen pages of dialogue in a half an hour. Wow!
What has caused the biggest single change in Jack Abbotts’ life? Bergman gives his take, and it is a good one!
Peter Bergman on the Famous Y&R Jack/Victor Feud
No interview with Bergman (or Eric Braeden most likely for that matter) would be complete without talking about the infamous iconic long-standing feud between Jack Abbott and Victor Newman. Bergman is transparent and we love the honesty about the journey all “four men” have been on for the last several decades. How you begin a thing is never as important as how you finish.
Wouldn’t you love to perform “one day” of work that would “literally put your kids through college?” Bergman is that guy and shares how. It is such a good story.
There is also Bergman’s take on if there should be a “Shick” reunion (interesting!) And we also loved to hear how he interacts with fans.
